about

From the mind of a seven-year-old: she heard Bill Haley song called the "Rock-a-Beatin' Boogie", and asked if the song was about blowing your nose. I tried to explain that many old dance songs were called the "... Boogie", and she suggested we write a song called the "Boogie Boogie" about... well, nose-blowing. All three kids contributed to the writing process, and this is where we ended up.

lyrics

Tissue Boogie

I got a runny nose, again I sneeze,
Can I have a tissue please?
For the tissue boogie,
Let’s do the tissue boogie
I got a boogie in my nose, and a tissue for the blows
Let’s do the tissue boogie, here’s how it goes

You get yerself a tissue, hold it in yer hand
Put it on your nose and you blow it, man!
And that’s the tissue boogie,
Yer doin’ the tissue boogie
Blowin’ on yer nose, like nobody knows,
Do the tissue boogie, that’s the way it goes

Get yer nose all clean, and no one can say
That you’re a boogie-oogie-oogie boy every day
With the tissue boogie, yer doin’ the tissue boogie
Got a boogie in the way, and a tissue today
It’s the tissue boogie, hey what d’ya say?

Well, even though it’s sometimes hard to believe,
You’re really not supposed to wipe it on your sleeve
Gotta do the tissue boogie,
Every time you do the tissue boogie
You’ll see what I mean,
When your nose and clothes are clean
Doin’ the tissue boogie, hey, do it with me!

I got a runny nose, again I sneeze,
Can I have a tissue please?
For the tissue boogie,
Let’s do the tissue boogie
Got a boogie in yer nose, and a tissue for the blows
Do the tissue boogie, this is how it goes!
Hey, do it with me!
Doin’ the tissue boogie, doin’ the tissue boogie
Blowin’ on yer nose, like nobody knows,
Do the tissue boogie, that’s how it goes.
